- The picturesque fishing village of Crail is situated on the east coast of Scotland, in the county of Fife.
- The curved breakwater, providing shelter from the Forth, dates back to the 16th century. The straight west pier, was built by Robert Stevenson in 1826. Stevenson was a lighthouse engineer, whose many noteworthy achievements were somewhat overshadowed by his grandson Robert Louis Stevenson of literary fame.
- Crail is home to Fife's crab and lobster fleet, and subject to tide and weather, sea-fresh shellfish can be bought by visitors from the harbour side.
